Galium hypotrichium subsp. tomentellum Ehrend.
Habit: Plant +- densely branched, matted, densely fine-hairy, gray. Stem: <= 9 cm. Leaf: 5--9 mm, ovate, tip +- acute. Flower: corolla shallowly bell-shaped, cream-yellow to +- red, hairy. Fruit: 5--8 mm including hairs. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: Talus, eastern slopes, rock crevices and outcrops, bristlecone pine; Elevation: +- 3300 m. Bioregional Distribution: DMtns (Telescope Peak, Panamint Range). Flowering Time: Jun--Aug
