Galium angustifolium subsp. nudicaule Dempster & Stebbins
Habit: Plant low, mat-forming, rhizomed, not woody, generally glabrous or +- hairy on leaf margins, veins. Stem: 6--20 cm, ridges +- as wide as grooves. Leaf: generally 2--15 mm. Inflorescence: narrow, few-flowered, open. Flower: corolla generally red, occasionally yellow, sparsely hairy externally. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: Steep slopes, open mixed forest and chaparral; Elevation: 1650--2650 m. Bioregional Distribution: SnGb, SnBr. Flowering Time: Jun--Aug
