Habit: Plant slender, generally glabrous except leaves scabrous. Stem: +- 40 cm, woody, ridges +- wide as grooves. Leaf: generally 4--18 mm, short-lived. Inflorescence: few-flowered, +- open. Flower: corolla hairs generally 0. Fruit: < 2 mm, > hairs. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: Shaded places among granite boulders in canyons, on outcrops; Elevation: 130--1550 m. Bioregional Distribution: SnBr, e SnJt, DMtns, DSon. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul
