Vicia tetrasperma (L.) Schreb.
Habit: Annual, +- glabrous. Stem: slender, decumbent or climbing, 1--5 dm. Leaf: stipules entire; leaflets 4--10, 0.6--2 cm, linear to elliptic. Inflorescence: > subtending leaf; flowers generally 1--3, at tip, peduncle 1--3 cm, thread-like, often curved. Flower: calyx attachment basal, tube 1--2 mm, lower lobe 0.5--1 mm, lanceolate, upper lobes << lower, deltate; corolla 4--6 mm, pale lavender to light purple. Fruit: 1--1.3 cm, 3--4 mm wide, glabrous; tip rounded, style reflexed; stalk-like base +- 1 mm. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
Ecology: Disturbed areas; Elevation: < 610 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCo, NCoRO, CCo, SnFrB; Distribution Outside California: United States, southern Canada; native to Europe. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul
