Fruit: mericarps 6, 3--8 mm, fully separating, abaxially smooth or weak-ridged. Chromosomes: 2n=12,24,30,36,48,60,120,144. Ecology: Coastal salt marshes, interior saline, brackish, alkaline marshes; Elevation: < 2800 m.
