Trifolium hybridum L.
Habit: Annual, perennial herb, +- glabrous. Stem: sprawling to erect. Leaf: cauline; stipules lance-ovate, prominently veined; leaflets 1--4 cm, elliptic to obovate. Inflorescence: 1.5--3 cm wide; flower bract < 1 mm, soon falling; pedicels 2--6 mm; flowers becoming reflexed. Flower: calyx 3--5 mm, tube 10-veined, lobes +- >= tube, lanceolate, sharply tapered, not bristle-tipped; corolla 6--11 mm, pink. Fruit: stalk-like base +- 0. Seed: 2--4. Chromosomes: 2n=16.
Ecology: Disturbed areas; Elevation: < 1500 m. Bioregional Distribution: NW, sporadic elsewhere; Distribution Outside California: United States; native to Europe. Flowering Time: May--Oct Note: Cult.
