Thalictrum occidentale A. Gray
Habit: Plant 40--100 cm; dioecious. Leaf: basal and cauline, 6--40 cm; segments 11--35 mm, glabrous to finely glandular-puberulent. Inflorescence: panicle, bracts leaf-like proximally. Flower: sepals generally 4, 2--5 mm; stamens 15--30, filaments thread-like, anthers oblong-linear, acuminate. Fruit: (3)6--14, generally reflexed; body 4--6 mm, +- compressed laterally, sides obliquely narrowly ovate to narrowly fusiform, ribs generally 3, +- straight, beak 3--4.5 mm.
Ecology: Moist, shaded places, conifer forest; Elevation: < 200 m. Bioregional Distribution: n NCo, nw KR; Distribution Outside California: to British Columbia, Wyoming. Flowering Time: May--Jul
