Sisyrinchium halophilum Greene
Stem: generally tufted, < 40 cm, glaucous, leaf-bearing nodes 0. Inflorescence: translucent margins of inner bract widest at tip, extended above tip as 2 rounded teeth. Flower: perianth generally 9--12 mm, generally medium violet-blue, base yellow, outer parts generally wedge-shaped, tips truncate (to notched). Chromosomes: n=16.
Ecology: Generally moist, alkaline meadows; Elevation: < 2600 m. Bioregional Distribution: n&s SNH, GB, adjacent DMoj; Distribution Outside California: to Utah. Flowering Time: May--Jun Note: Self-sterile.
Synonyms: Sisyrinchium leptocaulon E.P. Bicknell
Unabridged Note: However, such accessions probably belong to Sisyrinchium idahoense.
