Senna artemisioides (Gaudich. ex DC.) Randell
Habit: Shrub < 2 m, unarmed, sparsely to densely hairy. Leaf: 3--6 cm including 5--15 mm petiole with glands 1--3 below lowest leaflets; stipules small, ephemeral; leaflets 6--16, not overlapped, sessile, 10--25 mm, 1 mm wide, linear. Inflorescence: clustered towards upper axils, raceme, 4--12-flowered; peduncles 5--40 mm, pedicels 5--25 mm. Flower: petals 7--10 mm, glabrous, yellow; stamens 10, unequal. Fruit: dehiscent, 4--8 cm, flat, oblong, straight. Seed: several.
Ecology: Dry, sandy washes to rocky slopes, disturbed areas; Elevation: 100--1500 m. Bioregional Distribution: SCo, SnGb, SnBr, DSon; Distribution Outside California: Native to Australia, cultivated, naturalized in southwestern United States. Flowering Time: Jan--May
