Selaginella hansenii Hieron.
Habit: Plant a sprawling mat, loosely spreading at margins where branching +- pinnate; green aging tan then gray, some leaves red, pink-red, or red-streaked. Leaf: 1--4.5 mm, 0.4--0.7 mm wide, not decurrent; under-leaves lance-linear, grading to linear-deltate over-leaves; base glabrous; awn 0.4--1.4 mm, in tufts at stem tips. Cone: Sparse, 4--8 mm.
Ecology: Rocks of outcrops, river gorges, foothill woodland; Elevation: 250--1700 m. Bioregional Distribution: s NCoRI, CaR, SN, ScV (Sutter Buttes), SnJV, n SCoR.
