Ranunculus trilobus Desf.
Habit: Erect or decumbent, not bulbous-based; roots basal, not tuberous. Leaf: basal, lower cauline 5--8 cm, 3--6(7) cm wide, cordate-ovate, 1-ternate, leaflets again cleft or parted and dentate, leaflet base obtuse to acute, tip rounded to acute. Flower: receptacle bristly; sepals 5, reflexed, 3--4 mm, 2 mm wide, early-deciduous; petals 5, 4--5 mm, 2--3 mm wide. Fruit: body 2 mm, 6--7 mm wide, disk-like, wall coarsely tubercled, beak +- 0.3 mm, semicircular, hooked.
Ecology: Disturbed agricultural field; Elevation: +- 10 m. Bioregional Distribution: CCo; Distribution Outside California: southeastern United States; native to Europe. Flowering Time: Apr Note: Doubtfully surviving in California.
