Pyracantha fortuneana (Maxim.) H.L. Li
Habit: Plant < 4 m, erect, generally rusty-hairy, glabrous in age. Leaf: 15--60 mm, oblong-obovate to obovate, glabrous or +- hairy abaxially, glabrous in age, not glaucous, tip obtuse or +- notched, less often abruptly soft-pointed, teeth short, many. Inflorescence: +- many-flowered, glabrous or sparsely +- brown-hairy. Fruit: 3--6 mm wide, orange-red to dark red.
Ecology: Disturbed ground, canyons, riparian areas; Elevation: < 1500 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoRO, ScV, CW (exc SCoRI), SCo, SnGb, SnBr, expected elsewhere; Distribution Outside California: to Washington; southeastern United States; native to China. Flowering Time: Feb--Jun
