Plagiobothrys strictus (Greene) I.M. Johnst.
Habit: Annual, +- glabrous except calyx strigose. Stem: ascending to erect, 1--4 dm. Leaf: cauline, lower 4--9 cm. Inflorescence: branches paired; bracts 0 or few near base. Flower: calyx 3 mm, coarse-strigose; corolla limb 4--6 mm diam, appendages yellow. Fruit: nutlet 1--1.5 mm, ovate, +- flat, dull; abaxial cross-ribs many, narrow, irregular, generally sharp-papillate, interspaces irregular, roughened; adaxially wrinkled, scar near base, linear, wider near base or not.
Ecology: Moist to wet sites near hot springs, adjacent vernal pools, occasionally grassy swales; Elevation: 100--150 m. Bioregional Distribution: s NCoRI (nw Napa Co.). Flowering Time: Mar--Jun
