Plagiobothrys parishii I.M. Johnst.
Habit: Annual, short-spreading-hairy. Stem: prostrate to ascending, 0.5--3 dm. Leaf: cauline, lower 1--5 cm, abaxial hairs blister-based. Inflorescence: bracts near base; pedicels 1--3+ mm, slender. Flower: calyx 2--3 mm, +- deciduous; corolla limb 3--7(8) mm diam, appendages yellow. Fruit: nutlet 0.8--1.4 mm, +- lance-ovate, +- asymmetric, gray to brown; abaxial ridge obscure, lateral ridges 0, cross-ribs strongly tubercled; adaxial ridge low, +- 80% fruit length; scar near base, +- oblong to occasionally narrow-triangular, generally in groove.
Ecology: Wet, alkaline soil around desert springs, mud flats; Elevation: 750--2210 m. Bioregional Distribution: SNE, c DMoj. Flowering Time: Mar--Jun
