Plagiobothrys greenei (A. Gray) I.M. Johnst.
Habit: Annual, strigose. Stem: decumbent to erect, 1--4 dm. Leaf: cauline, lower 1--5 cm. Inflorescence: bracts near base. Flower: calyx 5--8 mm; corolla limb 1--2.5 mm diam, appendages pale yellow. Fruit: nutlet 1.5--3 mm, ovate, +- narrowed near tip, granular, +- dull; abaxial cross-ribs 0, prickles many, slender, +- barb-tipped, +- 0 adaxially; scar near base, triangular, deep-concave.
Ecology: Wet sites, grassland, woodland; Elevation: < 900 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCoR, CaRF, SNF, n SNH, ScV, n SnJV; Distribution Outside California: southwestern Oregon. Flowering Time: Mar--May
Unabridged Note: May intergrade with Plagiobothrys acanthocarpus in south.
