Plagiobothrys distantiflorus (Piper) I.M. Johnst.
Habit: Annual, slender, strigose. Stem: prostrate to decumbent, 1--3 dm. Leaf: cauline, lower 0.5--2.5 cm. Inflorescence: bracts +- throughout. Flower: calyx 2.5--3 mm; corolla limb 1--1.5 mm diam, appendages minute, white. Fruit: nutlet 1 mm, elongate-ovate, narrow near tip, +- arched, +- dull; abaxial cross-ribs crowded, wide, wrinkled, irregularly toothed, occasionally bristled, interspaces narrow; scar near base, 50--60% fruit length, +- pear-shaped, pit-like, flanked by crowded wrinkles.
Ecology: Uncommon. Moist places in grassland, open woodland, seeps, springs; Elevation: 50--1040 m. Bioregional Distribution: n SNF (Placer Co.), c SNF. Flowering Time: Mar--May
Unabridged Note: May intergrade with Plagiobothrys glyptocarpus in north.
