Penstemon barnebyi N.H. Holmgren
Habit: Perennial herb 6--30 cm; hairs short, backward-pointing. Leaf: 20--75 mm; basal leaves well developed; distal cauline leaves lanceolate, (sub)entire. Inflorescence: glandular. Flower: calyx 4.5--12 mm, lobes +- lanceolate; corolla 10--14 mm, abruptly expanded to throat on lower side, throat 4--5 mm wide when pressed, violet, blue distally, glandular outside, throat white, dark-lined, floor +- yellow-hairy; anther sacs 0.7--0.9 mm, spreading flat; staminode much exserted, coiled at tip, densely orange-yellow-hairy.
