Onobrychis viciifolia Scop.
Habit: Plant ascending, +- hairy. Leaf: leaflets 15--21, 1--2.5 cm, narrowly elliptic to obovate, adaxially finely red-dotted. Inflorescence: dense early, peduncle 1--2 dm. Flower: corolla +- 1 cm, pink. Fruit: ascending, +- 6--7 mm, obovate, short-prickly near margin, strongly net-ridged, leathery, stalk-like base 0.
Ecology: Uncommon. Disturbed places; Elevation: 1000--1550 m. Bioregional Distribution: n SNH, MP; Distribution Outside California: to British Columbia, sporadic in United States; native to central and southeastern Europe. Flowering Time: Jun--Aug Note: Cult for forage, soil improvement.
