Nemophila maculata Benth. ex Lindl.
Leaf: opposite, petiole >= blade; lower blades 8--30 mm, 3--15 mm wide, oblong to ovate, lobes 5--9, entire or 1--3-toothed; upper oblanceolate to spoon-shaped, sessile, tip entire or 3-toothed. Inflorescence: pedicels stout, 10--20 mm, < 70 mm in fruit. Flower: calyx lobes 4--9 mm, appendages 1--4 mm in fruit; corolla 8--20 mm, 10--50 mm wide, bowl-shaped to rotate, white with dark veins, dots, purple-spotted at lobe tips, tube filaments; anthers 1--3 mm; style 3--6 mm. Seed: 2--12, green-brown, smooth or shallow-pitted. Chromosomes: n=9.
Ecology: Meadows, roadbanks, woodland; Elevation: 60--3100 m. Bioregional Distribution: SN, ScV. Flowering Time: Mar--Jul
