Narcissus tazetta L.
Habit: Bulb 4--6 cm, 3--5 cm wide, coats pale to dark brown. Stem: 25--45 cm. Leaf: 4, 20--45 cm, flat, glaucous. Inflorescence: bract 4--6 cm, pale brown, papery. Flower: very fragrant; perianth 2--4 cm wide, tube 1.5--2 cm, gradually tapered to base, parts spreading to reflexed, linear-ovate to oblanceolate, acute, generally white to cream, crown 5--10 mm wide, crenate to ruffled, generally yellow.
Ecology: Disturbed places, former home sites; Elevation: < 600 m. Bioregional Distribution: SnFrB, SCo, n ChI, WTR, PR; Distribution Outside California: Iran, widely naturalized elsewhere. Flowering Time: Spring Note: Highly polymorphic, cultivated for centuries.
