Monardella exilis (A. Gray) Greene
Habit: Annual; generally branched from base, occasionally stem simple. Stem: 6--30 cm, erect, puberulent. Leaf: conspicuously petioled, 15--37 mm, 3--8 mm wide, lanceolate to narrowly ovate. Inflorescence: flower cluster 10--20 mm wide; bracts ovate, abruptly acuminate, long-ciliate, puberulent, generally green with purple tinge; margins, tips white-scarious; veins +- palmate, lateral veins 3--4 per side of midrib, cross-veins 0 or inconspicuous. Flower: calyx lobe tips erect, acute, white, tube +- purple distally, hairy; corolla 10 mm, white, lobes gland-tipped; stamens slightly exserted, anther sacs purple, tissue between pollen chambers notched.
Ecology: Desert scrub, washes, pinyon woodland; Elevation: 600--2100 m. Bioregional Distribution: se SN, n TR, nw DMoj. Flowering Time: Apr--Sep
