Monardella douglasii Benth.
Habit: Annual, branched or not. Stem: 10--30 cm, slender. Leaf: 15--50 mm, linear-oblong to (ob)lanceolate, hairy. Inflorescence: flower cluster 10--15 mm wide; bracts 10--15 mm, narrowly ovate, veins stout, translucent between veins except narrow opaque band beside vein, hairs between veins present. Flower: corolla 11--12 mm, deep purple, hairy; stamens exserted.
Ecology: Grassland, openings in woodland and chaparral, serpentine, occasionally vertic clay; Elevation: 50--1100 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCoR, SnFrB, SCoRI. Flowering Time: May--Nov
