Monardella beneolens Shevock, Ertter & Jokerst
Habit: Subshrub, matted to tufted, rhizomed. Stem: decumbent, 10--30 cm; hairs spreading, long, soft, some glandular. Leaf: < 10 mm, narrowly ovate to triangular-ovate, margin wavy, entire to +- serrate, hairs dense, long, wavy, and glandular abaxially. Inflorescence: flower cluster 10--20 mm wide; outer bracts leaf-like or not; middle bracts +- erect, +- in cup-like involucre, short, ovate, green to straw-colored, rose-tinged or not. Flower: calyx 6--8 mm, hairs dense; corolla 9--11 mm, lavender to pale rose.
Ecology: Rocky granitic or metamorphic slopes in open conifer forest; Elevation: 2500--3600 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNH. Flowering Time: Apr--Sep Note: Intergrades with Monardella odoratissima subsp. pallida.
