Mimulus rubellus A. Gray
Habit: Annual 2--32 cm, minutely puberulent. Leaf: 3--31 mm, lanceolate to ovate, proximal +- petioled, distal sessile. Flower: pedicel 5--18 mm, ascending in fruit; calyx 4.5--9 mm, generally glabrous, ribs +- brown, lobes equal, 0.5--1.5 mm, rounded, ciliate, tip generally small-pointed; corolla yellow or purple-magenta, tube-throat 6--10 mm, limb 3--4 mm wide; placentas axile. Fruit: 3.5--7 mm.
Ecology: Generally around washes; Elevation: 800--2600 m. Bioregional Distribution: TR, GB, DMtns; Distribution Outside California: to Wyoming, New Mexico, northern Baja California. Flowering Time: Apr--Jun
