Mimulus pygmaeus A.L. Grant
Habit: Annual < 1 cm, compact, puberulent. Leaf: 2--15 mm, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic, basal 1/2 ciliate. Flower: pedicel 0--0.5 mm; calyx 4--8 mm, lobes unequal, 0.5--1.5 mm, rounded, occasionally +- ciliate; corolla yellow, persistent, tube-throat 5--10 mm; placentas parietal. Fruit: 2--4 mm, ovoid, hard, indehiscent. Chromosomes: 2n=20.
Ecology: Vernally wet depressions or along stream channels, on clay soils; Elevation: 1095--1790 m. Bioregional Distribution: s CaRH, n SNH (Lake Almanor region, Plumas Co.), MP (Egg Lake, Modoc Co., w of Eagle Lake, Lassen Co.); Distribution Outside California: southern Oregon. Flowering Time: May--Jun
