Mimulus parryi A. Gray
Habit: Annual 1--17 cm, densely puberulent. Leaf: 3--26 mm, +- linear to oblanceolate, tip rounded to acute. Flower: pedicel 1--5 mm; calyx 6--12 mm, membranous, generally +- purple throughout, puberulent, lobes spreading, upper lobe 2--3 mm, rounded to acute, other lobes generally 0.5--2 mm, acute or short-pointed; corolla persistent, magenta or yellow, tube-throat 11--18 mm; placentas parietal. Fruit: 5.5--10 mm, included. Chromosomes: 2n=16.
Ecology: Steep hillsides, along washes; Elevation: (770)1200--1830 m. Bioregional Distribution: W&I (esp Inyo Mtns); Distribution Outside California: to southwestern Utah, northwestern Arizona. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul Note: +- common outside California.
