Mimulus johnstonii A.L. Grant
Habit: Annual 3--20 cm, generally finely +- white-puberulent. Leaf: 7--30 mm, oblanceolate to obovate, tip generally acute. Flower: pedicel 1--5 mm; calyx 6--11 mm, membranous, +- red, minutely puberulent, mouth strongly oblique in fruit, lobes erect to spreading, unequal, 1--3 mm, +- acuminate; corolla magenta, persistent, tube-throat 9--15 mm, throat floor yellow, mouth generally with 2 lateral, dark maroon patches; stigma +- exserted; placentas parietal. Fruit: 7--12 mm. Chromosomes: 2n=16.
Ecology: Road banks, disturbed areas, especially scree; Elevation: generally 975--2920 m. Bioregional Distribution: SnGb, SnBr. Flowering Time: May--Aug Note: Intergrades with Mimulus constrictus in southern WTR and southern SCoRO.
