Habit: Plant +- glabrous (except leaf clusters hair-tufted); twigs slender, +- climbing. Leaf: 1--5 cm, narrowly oblanceolate to obovate. Flower: calyx 2.5--4.5 mm, lobes 5, 1--1.5 mm; corolla 8--15 mm, narrowly funnel-shaped, green-lavender or +- white, lobes 3--4 mm, lanceolate to ovate; stamens +- exserted, attached at tube middle. Fruit: 6--10 mm, red or orange. Seed: 8--30.
Ecology: Washes, streambanks; Elevation: < 700 m. Bioregional Distribution: s DMoj, DSon; Distribution Outside California: to Utah, Texas, northern Mexico. Flowering Time: Mar--May
