Lonicera tatarica L.
Habit: Erect, < 3 m; herbage glabrous or soft-hairy. Leaf: generally 3--6 cm; blade ovate, base round or +- cordate, tip obtuse; upper pairs not fused around stem. Inflorescence: flowers paired, pedicels 0; peduncle +- 15 mm, slender; bracts not leaf-like, not forming involucre, lower lanceolate, spreading, upper round-ovate, erect. Flower: calyx limb +- deep-lobed; corolla +- 15 mm, white or pink fading +- yellow, glabrous, weakly 2-lipped, lobes +- = tube, subequal, obovate; stamens well exserted; ovaries of a flower pair free, stigma exserted. Fruit: +- 1 cm, red, orange, yellow.
Ecology: Disturbed places; Elevation: 700--1100 m. Bioregional Distribution: w CaR; Distribution Outside California: native to Siberia. Toxicity: Berries possibly TOXIC, attractive to children. Flowering Time: Jun--Jul Note: Sporadic escape from cultivation.
