Linanthus arenicola (M.E. Jones) Jeps. & V.L. Bailey
Habit: Annual. Stem: 1--8 cm, glabrous to +- hairy. Leaf: lobes 3--12 mm, adaxially hairy, abaxially glabrous. Inflorescence: cyme. Flower: open evening; calyx 4--5 mm, hairy adaxially, lobes unequal, membrane 2/3 calyx; corolla 5--7 mm, funnel-shaped, light yellow, throat purple; stamens attached in lower throat. Fruit: <= calyx, ellipsoid. Seed: 15--27, not gelatinous when wet.
Ecology: Dunes, sandy flats; Elevation: 800--1400 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNE, DMoj; Distribution Outside California: Nevada. Flowering Time: Mar--Apr
