Lepidium heterophyllum Benth.
Habit: Perennial herb, stiff-hairy, caudex branched. Stem: erect to ascending, generally decumbent at base, 1--5 dm, simple or few-branched distally. Leaf: basal rosetted, oblanceolate or oblong-elliptic, 1--4.5 cm, entire to fine-dentate; mid-cauline oblong to lanceolate, 1--3.5 cm, 3--8 mm wide, dentate, base sagittate or lobed. Flower: sepals 1.6--2.2 mm; petals 1.8--2.8 mm, 0.8--1.4 mm wide, spoon-shaped, white; stamens 6. Fruit: 4--5.5 mm, 3.5--4 mm wide, broadly oblong to ovate, flat, tip broadly winged, notch 0.2--0.3 mm; valves generally not papillate, veins 0; style (0.6)1--1.5 mm, well exserted beyond notch; pedicel spreading, 2.8--5 mm, cylindric, stiff hairy. Seed: 1.8--2.2 mm, ovoid.
Ecology: Uncommon. Fields, roadsides, open slopes; Elevation: 1400--1500 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, CaR; Distribution Outside California: to British Columbia, eastern North America; native to Europe. Flowering Time: May--Jun
