Lathyrus sulphureus A. Gray
Habit: Perennial herb, glabrous. Stem: angled or flanged, not winged. Leaf: stipules 1--2.5 cm, generally wide; leaflets 6--12, often alternate, 1.5--4 cm, elliptic to ovate; tendril branched, coiled. Inflorescence: 10--15-flowered, dense, generally 1-sided. Flower: calyx tube > lobes; corolla 11--14 mm, white-yellow to bronze-orange, drying tan or dark, appearing wide, blocky, banner reflexed above middle. Fruit: glabrous. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
Ecology: Foothill woodland to fir forest; Elevation: 600--2500 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoR, SN; Distribution Outside California: southwestern Oregon. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul
