Hackelia cusickii (Piper) Brand
Stem: 1--5 dm, slender; hairs at mid-stem generally strongly appressed upward. Leaf: appressed-stiff-hairy; basal 5--18 cm, 0.4--2.8 cm wide, narrow-elliptic; lower cauline 5--10 cm, 0.4--1.1 cm wide, narrow-elliptic to lanceolate. Inflorescence: open, few-flowered, strigose; pedicel 6--7 mm in fruit. Flower: calyx 4--5 mm; corolla tube generally = calyx, throat open, limb(5)7--13 mm diam, +- blue, appendages +- longer than wide. Fruit: nutlets 3--4.5 mm, abaxial prickles 8--15, < marginal. Chromosomes: 2n=48.
Ecology: Under junipers; Elevation: 1300--1950 m. Bioregional Distribution: MP; Distribution Outside California: to east-central Oregon. Flowering Time: May--Jul
