Gypsophila scorzonerifolia Ser.
Habit: Perennial herb 30--90 cm; rhizome stout. Leaf: blade 3--35 mm wide, linear-oblong to lanceolate. Inflorescence: +- open; flowers +- few; pedicels glandular-hairy. Flower: calyx 2--4 mm, glandular-hairy; petals 1.5--2 × calyx, white to light pink. Chromosomes: 2n=68.
Ecology: Disturbed areas; Elevation: +- 1200 m. Bioregional Distribution: SNE (Inyo Co.); Distribution Outside California: to Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, also southwestern Canada, +- northeastern United States; native to eastern Europe. Flowering Time: Summer--fall Note: Evidently collected in California only from urban environments.
