Gilia nevinii A. Gray
Stem: branches +- erect, 10--40 cm, leafy, white- or translucent-hairy. Leaf: basal hairy, but not densely tufted-woolly-hairy, 2--3-pinnate-lobed, axis, lobes < 1 mm wide. Inflorescence: glandular. Flower: calyx 4--6 mm, longer in fruit, lobes wider than membranes, acute; corolla 8--14 mm, lavender with narrow, yellow throat, lobes 2--3 mm, short-pointed; stamens +- exserted, pollen blue. Fruit: 6--8 mm, < calyx, narrowly ovoid. Seed: 24--36. Chromosomes: 2n=36.
Ecology: Rocky, grassy slopes, coastal canyons; Elevation: 7--600 m. Bioregional Distribution: ChI; Distribution Outside California: Baja California (Guadalupe Island). Flowering Time: Mar--Jul
