Gilia jacens A.D. Grant & V.E. Grant
Stem: branches long-decumbent, densely tufted-woolly-hairy. Leaf: basal in suberect rosette, 2--5 cm, 1--2-pinnate-lobed, tufted-woolly-hairy; axis 0.5--1.5 mm wide, lobes > axis width; upper cauline lobes generally lanceolate, 1-pinnate-lobed. Inflorescence: cluster; pedicel glands dense, minute, black, stalked. Flower: calyx 3--4 mm; corolla 5--7 mm, tube included, purple, throat generally included, purple; stamens, style +- exserted. Fruit: 4--5 mm, +- < calyx, ovoid. Seed: 24--36. Chromosomes: 2n=18.
Ecology: Low, sandy or clay flats; Elevation: 500--2500 m. Bioregional Distribution: Teh, SCoRI, WTR, w DMoj. Flowering Time: Apr--Jun Note: A cryptic but reproductively isolated sp. confused with Gilia brecciarum.
