Geranium dissectum L.
Habit: Annual. Stem: ascending to erect, 0.7--7 dm; hairs rough, spreading to reflexed. Leaf: blade 2.5--5.4 cm wide, divided 0.75--0.95 to base, segments 5--7, rhombic. Flower: pedicel 6--13 mm; sepals 4.2--7.1 mm, smooth, short-awned; petals 2.9--5.8 mm, +- notched, rose-purple. Fruit: mericarp 2.3--2.9 mm, smooth, minutely bristly, base with prong, callus 0; beak 11.1--13.5 mm, narrow tip 1.6--2.7 mm; stigmas 0.6--1 mm. Seed: deeply pitted. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: Open, disturbed sites; Elevation: < 1300 m. Bioregional Distribution: CA-FP; Distribution Outside California: to eastern North America; native to Europe, northern Africa, western Asia; alien in some Caribbean islands, South America, New Zealand. Flowering Time: Mar--Jul
