Geranium columbinum L.
Habit: Annual. Stem: erect, 0.9--6 dm; hairs reflexed, appressed, nonglandular. Leaf: blade 3--5 cm wide, divided > 0.9 to base, segments 5--7, rhombic. Flower: pedicel 20--60 mm; sepals 6--11, smooth, awned; petals 8--10 mm, +- notched, purple. Fruit: mericarp 2.2--2.8 mm, smooth, minutely bristly; beak 18--19 mm, narrow tip +- 4 mm; stigmas +- 2 mm. Seed: pitted. Chromosomes: 2n=18.
Ecology: Open, disturbed sites; Elevation: < 450 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCo, NCoRI/ScV; Distribution Outside California: to eastern North America; native to Europe, northern Africa, western Asia. Flowering Time: May--Sep
