Gayophytum oligospermum H. Lewis & Szweyk.
Habit: Plant herbage generally glabrous. Stem: < 70 cm; branches generally 0 at base, forked distally, tips occasionally barely hairy, 2° branches generally many. Leaf: 1.5--6 cm, much reduced distally on stem. Inflorescence: 1st flower generally 10--20 nodes distal to base. Flower: petals 1.5--2.5 mm; larger stamens 1.2--1.5 mm; ovary puberulent. Fruit: 4--9 mm, +- = pedicel, very knobby. Seed: (1)3--5, alternate, glabrous. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
Ecology: Open pine forest; Elevation: 1200--2800 m. Bioregional Distribution: TR, PR. Flowering Time: Jun--Oct
