Galium grande McClatchie
Habit: Perennial herb, sprawling, climbing, forming dense clumps, woody, densely gray-hairy. Stem: generally 15--152 cm, stout, rooting at nodes. Leaf: in whorls of 4, 5--15 mm, generally widely elliptic, tip acute to abruptly soft-pointed, margins +- rolled under; petioled. Inflorescence: pistillate flowers 1 in axils, staminate and bisexual flowers in terminal, few-flowered panicles. Flower: bisexual or unisexual, corolla rotate, hairy externally, yellow. Fruit: berry, hairy. Chromosomes: 2n= +- 220.
Ecology: Oak woodland, chaparral; Elevation: 425--1220 m. Bioregional Distribution: SnGb. Flowering Time: May--Jul
