Galium clementis Eastw.
Habit: Perennial herb, low, cushion-like, gray-hairy; dioecious. Stem: 8--13 cm. Leaf: generally whorls of 4, occasionally 6, 2--7 mm, linear-like, margins rolled under, tip tapered to +- obtuse. Staminate Inflorescence: few-flowered clusters in distal axils. Pistillate Inflorescence: flower 1 in distal axils. Flower: corolla rotate, hairy externally, +- yellow. Fruit: berry, hairy. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: N-facing slopes, open woodland; Elevation: 1130--1780 m. Bioregional Distribution: SCoRO (n Santa Lucia Range). Flowering Time: Jun--Jul
