Galium boreale L.
Habit: Perennial herb, erect, 3--6 dm, +- glabrous to puberulent. Leaf: in whorls of 4, 13--31 mm, linear to widely lanceolate, +- leathery, 3-veined, margins rolled under. Inflorescence: panicle, terminal, flowers many. Flower: bisexual; corolla rotate, white, glabrous. Fruit: nutlets; short hairs generally present, upcurved, not hooked. Chromosomes: 2n=66.
Ecology: Wet places or disturbed roadsides; Elevation: 15--2000 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, CaRH, c SNH, MP; Distribution Outside California: North America except southeastern United States, Eurasia. Flowering Time: Jun--Aug
