Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh.
Stem: < 25 m, +- straight; branches often hanging in clumps; bark persistent near base, generally shed in irregular strips, smooth, gray or tan. Leaf: 6--20 cm, 1.5--2.5 cm wide, lanceolate. Inflorescence: umbel, 7--11-flowered. Flower: hypanthium 2--3 mm, hemispheric, +- = bud cap; bud cap hemispheric, beaked (bluntly conic); stamens white. Fruit: 0.5--1 cm, +- hemispheric; valves exserted.
Ecology: Common. Disturbed areas; Elevation: < 300 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCoRO, GV, CW (exc SCoRI), SCo, n ChI (Santa Cruz Island), TR, PR; Distribution Outside California: native to Australia; naturalized in Arizona. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul Note: As cultivated sp., ranks 1 outside California, 2 in California.
