Eriastrum hooveri (Jeps.) H. Mason
Habit: Annual. Stem: 3--15 cm. Leaf: 5--25 mm, linear, entire or 3-lobed at base, +- glabrous to woolly. Inflorescence: few-flowered, -bracted. Flower: corolla 5--7 mm, +- salverform, white, tube 2--2.5 mm, throat 1--1.5 mm, lobes 2--3 mm; stamens attached 1 mm below sinus, 1--1.25 mm, included. Seed: (1)2--4 per chamber.
Ecology: Alkaline flats, above dry streambeds; Elevation: < 900 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNF (ne Kern Co.), SnJV, WTR (ne Santa Barbara Co.). Flowering Time: Mar--Jul Note: Plants from western DMoj noted as probably an undescribed taxon in TJM2 now treated as Eriastrum rosamondense.
