Dalea mollissima (Rydb.) Munz
Habit: Annual, perennial herb, 0.5--3.5 dm, mat-forming or not, hairy. Leaf: leaflets 8--14, 3--10 mm, +- round to obovate-oblong, generally folded, shallowly lobed or wavy. Inflorescence: generally 14--16 mm wide, ovoid or short-cylindric; bracts generally 1--1.5 mm wide. Flower: calyx +- 7--8 mm, lobes generally > tube, needle-like, shaggy-hairy; corolla < calyx, +- white or tinged lavender; stamens 9--10. Chromosomes: 2n=16.
Ecology: Common. Desert flats, washes; Elevation: < 900 m. Bioregional Distribution: D; Distribution Outside California: southern Nevada, western Arizona, Mexico. Flowering Time: Mar--May
