Cryptantha nemaclada Greene
Habit: Annual 10--35 cm, slender. Stem: branches 0 or from base; strigose to ascending-rough-hairy. Leaf: 0.5--2.5(3) cm, linear to acutely-oblong, ascending-rough-hairy. Inflorescence: in 1s or 2s; bracts 0; pedicel < 0.5 mm, spreading to ascending. Flower: calyx 2--3 mm, 3--4.5(5) mm in fruit, constricted above, deciduous, lobes linear-oblanceolate, tips generally spreading, midvein coarse-long-bristly, bristles spreading to reflexed, short bristles near tip strongly reflexed; corolla deciduous, limb 0.5--1 mm diam, appendages minute, white. Fruit: nutlets 1--2(4), 1.7--2 mm, lanceolate to lance-ovate, smooth, shiny, margin rounded; abaxially rounded, ridge 0; adaxially shallow-biconvex, attachment scar edges not raised, generally abutted, +- flare-gapped at base; axis not to nutlet tips.
