Ceanothus roderickii W. Knight
Habit: Plant mat- to mound-like, open, < 0.5 m. Stem: spreading to +- ascending, occasionally arched, often rooting at distal nodes; twigs red-brown. Leaf: opposite, some clustered, evergreen, generally also clustered, generally erect; stipules knob-like; petiole 1--2 mm; blade 4--11 mm, 2--6 mm wide, length generally > 2 × width, oblanceolate, adaxially dull green, +- glabrous, abaxially short-strigose between veins, tip obtuse to +- notched, margin +- not thick, +- not rolled under, entire, teeth 0--5. Inflorescence: umbel-like, 0.5--1 cm. Flower: white tinged blue. Fruit: 4--5 mm wide, bulged distally; horns generally 0.
Ecology: Rocky, gabbro-derived substrates, chaparral, oak/pine woodland; Elevation: 260--630 m. Bioregional Distribution: n SNF (w El Dorado Co.). Flowering Time: Mar--Jun
