Ceanothus lemmonii Parry
Habit: Plant erect to generally mound-like, +- open, 0.5--1 m. Stem: ascending to erect, not rooting at nodes; twigs flexible, not thorn-like, pale green to gray-green. Leaf: alternate, evergreen; stipules scale-like; petiole 3--6 mm; blade 12--33 mm, 6--15 mm wide, flat, elliptic to +- oblong, adaxially green, +- glabrous to strigose, abaxially paler, densely puberulent, 1- or +- 3-ribbed from base, tip acute to obtuse, margin not thick, not rolled under, minutely gland-toothed, teeth 34--45, glands +- spheric. Inflorescence: raceme-, occasionally +- umbel-like, 2--7 cm. Flower: blue to purple-blue. Fruit: 3--4 mm wide, 3-ridged distally; horns 0. Chromosomes: 2n=24.
Ecology: Open, rocky sites; Elevation: 150--1650 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoRI, CaR, n&c SN. Flowering Time: Apr--May
