Ceanothus diversifolius Kellogg
Habit: Plant generally mat-like, dense, generally < 0.3 m. Stem: spreading or +- ascending, rooting at nodes; twigs not angled, flexible, not thorn-like, green, occasionally tinged red, puberulent. Leaf: alternate, evergreen; stipules scale-like; petiole 3--11 mm; blade 11--35 mm, 6--20 mm wide, ovate, obovate, or elliptic, generally flat, short-wavy-hairy, adaxially blue-green, abaxially paler, 1(3)-ribbed from base, tip obtuse to +- rounded, margin not thick, not rolled under, glandular-serrate, teeth 27--42, glands narrowly conic. Inflorescence: raceme-, occasionally +- umbel-like, 1--2 cm, on short, erect twigs. Flower: blue to +- white. Fruit: 4--5 mm wide, smooth, 3-ridged distally; horns 0.
Ecology: Slopes, flats, oak-conifer forest; Elevation: 630--2300 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoRH, CaRH, SNH. Flowering Time: Apr--Jun
