Calochortus weedii Alph. Wood
Habit: Bulb coat fibrous. Stem: 30--90 cm, slender, generally branched, bulblets 0. Leaf: basal 20--40 cm, withering; upper cauline reduced upward, inrolled. Inflorescence: flowers 2--6, erect. Flower: perianth widely bell-shaped; sepals 20--30 mm, ovate, long-tapered; petals <= sepals, ovate to wedge-shaped, cream to light or deep yellow, +- purple, or red-brown, flecked and often margined red-brown, +- fringed, long-hairy, nectary round, +- depressed, +- glabrous, +- hidden by dense, long, yellow bordering hairs; filaments 12--15 mm, dilated at base, anthers 8--10 mm, oblong, yellow, red-brown. Fruit: erect, 4--5 cm, linear, angled, tip acuminate. Seed: flat, finely net-like. Chromosomes: n=9.
